All is set for the first ever World Athletics Africa Running Conference Lagos 2026 scheduled to hold for two days in Lagos, Nigeria as part of the build up events leading to the Gold Label Access Bank Lagos City Marathon.

The conference is co-organised by World Athletics and the National Sports Commission (NSC) and it holds on the 12th and 13th February at EKO Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island Lagos.

It will feature two days of intensive technical workshop and talks for Africa Member federations, Race organisers and stakeholders across Africa, focusing on technical performance, Sustainable Community partnerships, Anti doping, Communication and Broadcasting.

The inaugural conference aims to foster knowledge exchange, strategic dialogue, and sector development within the African running and mass participation ecosystem.

Invitation to the conference is open to all Africa Member Federations, race organisers, sponsors, media, run clubs and stakeholders across the running ecosystem .
