SAEF declare support for Access Bank Lagos City Marathon...

The Safety Advocacy and Empowerment Foundation, SAEF have declared their intention to fully support the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon billed to take place on February 6, 2016.

In a chat with Sam Kadiri the National Coordinator of SAEF, the forthcoming marathon race and high premium should be placed on safety of all the participants in the landmark event.

“It is a good thing that Lagos is having this marathon, so far I have been impressed with the preparation because it is in line with international standards, we at SAEF will gladly want to also offer our expertise to ensure that we have a successful race.”Mr Kadiri declared.

Having travelled across the world to volunteer in various marathon races in places like, South Africa, Spain and many other countries, Mr. Kadiri promised to make his experience and his interested colleagues  count at the Lagos marathon once given the opportunity to do same.

“I have had opportunities to attend various marathon races across the world to perform as a volunteer, as safety practitioners, we are particular about the safety of all the participants, we take a good look at the routes and make sure there are no impediments or hazards that could injure the runners , we do many things to make sure the races are successful,” the National Coordinator of SAEF stated.

Organisers have announced that the winners of both the men and women’s events at the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon will go home with $50,000 each, while second and third place finishers will take $40,000 and $30,000 respectively.

The top 20 Nigerians will also be rewarded with cash prizes starting from N1 million, while the second and third positions will settle for N750,000 and N500,000 respectively.
